My whole career has been a tug-of-war between two worlds, and I’ve learned the magic happens when you refuse to pick a side.

On one hand, there’s the human. I grew up on a cattle ranch, learned to be a steady hand in the chaos of crisis counseling, and discovered more about partnership from 1,800-pound draft horses than I ever could in a boardroom.

On the other, there’s the deep tech. I’ve spent over a decade in the industry—from giants like Salesforce to leading product at an AI startup and helping land a $13M Series A. Even my Stanford degree was a split down the middle: Symbolic Systems is the study of minds and machines, blending neuroscience and philosophy with machine learning. My M.S. from CU's ATLAS Institute was about taking all that and using it for social impact. I’ve been in the code, building the AI others are now just learning to use, always asking what it means for the people on the other side.

The industry kept trying to force me into a box—was I the engineer or the psychologist? The arrogant leader or the empathetic follower? But the truth is, the toughest problems are never just one or the other. They’re always in the complicated space in between. My refusal to choose became my ability to solve the impossible.

So, I founded the firm I couldn’t find anywhere else. I gathered a team of phenomenal, multi-dimensional experts who get it. In an age of unprecedented change, our humanity is our advantage. I’m glad I never chose a side.
